Description / Negronne Fig Tree

The moniker "Petite Black" doesn't do justice to the size and amount of fruits this tree yields! Expect plenty of plump, medium-sized figs with black to deep violet skin and amber flesh full of flavor. Due to its compact size, the ficus does well in containers and indoor areas. It starts bearing fruit before it's even a foot tall, and you'll be impressed at just how much this dwarf tree can produce. Help the process along by putting Petite Black in full sunlight and deep organic soil. The figs are delicious, and the tree itself is ornamental, with mitten-shaped foliage that drops when the weather gets cool. Position Petite Black on a bright windowsill during winter, and outside on the patio during summer. Zones 7-10.

Have had this planted for 11 years. Originally on a barrel but rooted through into the clay soil. Will get much larger than stated unless pruned. Good crop of medium delicious black sweet figs

Beautiful tree, strong from the start
Review by Miriam
This is a gorgeous little tree that I first planted last spring in a small container. It gave delicious, beautifully dark red-fleshed fruit last summer, and it wintered in the container with no fuss. This April I was able to transplant it into our new garden, and it's flourishing, already showing several new fruits that are growing vigorously and it's not even June! I couldn't be happier with my first fig tree. I've even given one as a birthday gift to my aunt.
