Description / Park's Picks Deep Red Zinnia Seeds

Discover the unparalleled beauty of Park's Picks Deep Red Zinnia, a striking addition to your garden landscape. With strong, fast-growing plants reaching an impressive height of approximately 39 inches, these zinnias stand out for their vibrant and captivating large-flowered blooms.

Meteor, one of the selections in this esteemed collection, boasts stunning dahlia-flowered wonders at the end of sturdy stems. Each bloom is a masterpiece, with waxy, tightly-packed petals forming a pompon that is almost unbelievably full, adorned with a cheerful greenish-yellow central eye. As a Park Seed Picks selection, these tall, bushy plants continue to produce blooms throughout the season, ensuring your garden remains a beacon of color and vibrancy.

Perfect for both garden beds and floral arrangements, Park's Picks Deep Red Zinnias are a florist's dream, with blooms that last and last. Their easy cultivation makes them a favorite among gardeners of all skill levels, attracting butterflies while thriving in beds, borders, containers, and more.

These zinnias thrive in the sun and heat of summer, requiring only well-drained soil to flourish. However, their biggest enemy is mildew, so it's crucial to water them with a soaker hose or ground-based spray to minimize wetting the foliage. Alternatively, opt for early morning watering to allow the leaves to dry off before nightfall.

To ensure the health and vitality of your zinnias, it's essential to space the plants generously to prevent overcrowding and remove foliage when cutting blooms for arrangements. Whether you choose to direct sow or start indoors, Park's Picks Deep Red Zinnias promise to fill your garden with a bounty of beauty and elegance.

I planted 16 peat pots and all of these sprouted within 5 days. They are growing like weeds. Temperatures have been in the 60’s to 70s with cool nights. Location: Houston

Theses came in the Park’s Pick’s last spring. They are over 5 feet and they bloom like crazy with deep colored large blooms. I am good at watering but not so much with fertilizing but these plants did great despite my shortcomings. I will be ordering a whole packet of theses for next spring.

Beautiful but disappointed 1 people found this helpful

I purchased these zinnia seeds because of the 3ft 3in height, the deep red color and the Pompom look I read in the Description. Well I got the height that I was expecting which was very nice and tall for everyone to see and admire. I also got the exact color shown. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the pompom look I desperately wanted. I was expecting the petals to grow closely together and form the shape of a ball/pompom. Instead, the petals grew out to a more daisy-like bloom and spacious with an open gap in the middle of the flower. That is not my idea of a pompom. At first I thought Parkseed mistakenly sent me the incorrect Zinnia seeds; but in addition to the red Zinnia seeds, I ordered the yellow and pink as well. All three colors had the same daisy-like bloom. I really wish I could upload pictures. Needless to say I will not be ordering these again. I love the height and color and I love that they are constantly blooming; this is why I gave it 4 stars. Had they bloomed like pompoms I’m familiar with, I would have given 5 stars.

Not Germinating 1 people found this helpful
So far the seeds were planted in pro-mix - placed in seed domes and then an indoor greenhouse with proper lighting and temperature. So far 1 seed in 12 has germinated after 14+ days

These flowers are so gorgeous and so full. Wonderful flowers to cut and present to a loved one. And the plants outside just keep producing more true red jewels. After this past summer of growing them for the first time, Park's Deep Red Zinnias have earned a permanent place in my garden.

Big, showy, true red blooms captivate everyone who looks at them. So big and full, that our mail carrier asked me; "What kind of roses are those?". I also enjoy all the extremely happy butterflies these gorgeous zinnias bring-in. Thank you!
