The waxy, tightly-packed petals create a pompon bloom that is almost incredibly full, dotted by a cheerful greenish-yellow central eye. Zinnias are one of the easiest annuals to grow, and they attract butterflies to the garden. They are outstanding in beds, borders, and containers. They are the perfect cut flower—the more you cut, the more you get.
Park's Picks Purple Zinnias thrive in the sun and heat of summer, and ask only for well-drained soil. Their biggest enemy is mildew, so water them with a soaker hose or other ground-based spray to minimize wetting the foliage—or, if this isn't possible, water them early in the day, so that the leaves can dry off before nightfall.
Space the Park's Picks Purple Zinnia plants generously to prevent overcrowding. When cutting the blooms for the vase, trim off all the foliage; unlike the blooms, it does not age well. Direct sow or start ahead indoors.

Best tall zinnias ever 1 people found this helpfulI liked State Fair Zinnias until I grew these. Every year I plant them and people come by to look and say how beautiful they are. After several years, some of my avid gardener friends are also growing them, and getting the same kind of reactions.

Started inside, sprouted 0 people found this helpfulI had about 50-75% come up and due to circumstances, haven't planted outside yet, but the plants look healthy enough, can't say how they flower, of course. I probably will not order again, due only to the seed packets, no pictures, hard to read, and most don't give size of plant at full growth

Wonderful deep purple color 2 people found this helpfulThis plant has huge blooms that last for a long time. I have cars stop by just to gaze at the zinnias. Several have asked for blooms to save for next year. One bloom produces so many seeds for the next season that I have already started for next year. I just hope this years seeds produce just as nice plant next year.
