Description / Park's Picks White Zinnia Seeds

Park's Picks White Zinnia is the brightest and best large-flowered pure white zinnia we know for the garden, bar none.

Polar Bear offers stunning dahlia-flowered blooms at the end of very long, strong stems. The waxy, tightly-packed petals create a pompon bloom that is almost incredibly full, dotted by a cheerful greenish-yellow central eye. These tall, bushy Park's Picks White Zinnia plants just keep producing all season long. Plants reach about 39 inches high in the garden. Perfect for the vase, these blooms last and last. No wonder they're a Park Seed Picks.

Zinnias are one of the easiest annuals to grow, and they attract butterflies to the garden. They are outstanding in beds, borders, and containers. They are the perfect cut flower—the more you cut, the more you get.

Park's Picks White Zinnias thrive in the sun and heat of summer, and ask only for well-drained soil. Their biggest enemy is mildew, so water them with a soaker hose or other ground-based spray to minimize wetting the foliage—or, if this isn't possible, water them early in the day, so that the leaves can dry off before nightfall.

Space the Park's Picks White Zinnia plants generously to prevent overcrowding. When cutting the blooms for the vase, trim off all the foliage; unlike the blooms, it does not age well. Direct sow or start ahead indoors.

Not White 0 people found this helpful

These seeds arrived promptly and are growing just fine, however the blooms are not white. So far I have white, pink, yellow, and gold, but they are ALL striped and speckled with pink/magenta. It's as if Park Seed poured their Peppermint Stick Zinnia seeds into the packet marked Park's Picks White. I'm pretty disappointed, since I've never liked the striped look, and I needed white zinnias for my side business.

great germination 0 people found this helpful

I have had two years of wonderful germination with these seeds. I stared the indoors in flats then transplanted them into individual containers until we could get them in the garden. They are strong healthy plants.

and I contacted the company about this multiple times and got no response. Am more upset about the non-response than the loss of money.

There is nothing to dislike about this zinnia. I just stuck them in moist soil, watered them only during long, dry spells, and they bloomed profusely until very late in the year (zone 8). The ones planted early dropped seeds, and those babies bloomed. Even the ones that didn't get the first flower bud pinched were full enough. The white is very pure.
