Developed specifically for small spaces, Patio Choice Red, a cherry tomato, sets small "perfect" flowers, followed by round ½ ounce bright red fruits with a mild sweet flavor. The tomatoes can be eaten fresh or sun dried for a delightfully sweet treat. Tomatoes are considered a superfood for its nutrient rich content, having a high (top 20) Aggregate Nutrient Density Index score (ANDI), or micronutrient-per-calorie density. Tomatoes are a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and potassium. They also contain phytonutrients, including the carotenoids lycopene and beta-carotene.

Patio Choice red cherry tomato, an herbaceous tender perennial, is grown as an annual. A determinate variety, often called a "bush" tomato, it has a compact habit and grows as a self-supporting bush. The bush grows to about 18 inches tall and 18 to 20 inches wide, suitable for a container or hanging basket, for especially easy picking. Blossoms and fruit appear over 4 or 5 weeks, producing a very large yield. For a continual, season-long harvest, succession plant every two weeks.

Patio Choice red cherry tomato grows best full sun and moist, humusy, deep, fertile loams. The plant is disease resistant and self-pollinating, bearing fruit without any pollen from other varieties.

A warm-season vegetable, sensitive to cold temperatures and frost, Patio Choice red cherry tomato seeds should be direct sown into warm spring soil after all danger of frost has passed. Flowers begin to set fruit with night temperatures between 55 and 75°F. Protect plants if temperatures are expected to dip below 50°F. Mulching helps to moderate soil temperature and to maintain soil moisture.

Plants can also be started indoors. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

We are in Zone 9 and trying a fall garden. We have planted these in mid-August(very hot) and they germinated in 4 days (7-10) on the packet. All seed are up. No fruit yet but we expect success.

Great little tomato! I was wowed by its germination rate, rapid growth, compact size and continuous yield of tasty tomatoes. I gave potted plants away for Mother's Day and the recipients also raved about the fantastic crop all summer long! What a winner. (And it made me a firm believer in Park Seed's seeds!)

Excellent germination rate. Vigorous, well branched plants averaging inches tall and setting grape sized tomatoes in abundance over a short period, complex, great taste. Grew it for container planting and happy with it.

Did I get the wrong seeds? 0 people found this helpful

I wanted a tomato plant under 2 feet tall to grow in a planter without support. I started me seeds early I because have a heated sun room to keep the plants in until the nights are warm enough. My plants are over 3 feet tall. While they are nicely branched and have many flowers, all of them flopped over today. I had given them some support, but it wasn't enough. The stems are bent over the support tape. I doubt I will get any fruit because the main stems are so damaged.
