Ready to grow in a snap, eager to bloom, and tolerant of imperfect garden conditions, Phlox 'Candy Stripe' Creeping Phlox is the ideal flowering ground cover for any sunny spot. The lavender-striped, white blooms arise very heavily in spring and may even repeat in fall.
'Candy Stripe' is a perennial you can trust to your most challenging garden spots, such as steep banks, rockeries, terraced gardens, and more. Use it in mass to cover a large space, or dot it in between perennials, bulbs, and shrubs in the border for fresh, bright early-season color. To encourage rebloom, just shear the plant back after the first flowers begin to pass.
'Candy Stripe' reaches 4 to 6 inches high but can spread up to 20 inches in the garden, filling in within just a season or two. A great companion to spring-blooming bulbs, it is also lovely in containers, and its autumn rebloom really perks up the late-season garden.
Hummingbirds and butterflies love these blooms, but nibbling animals tend to avoid the plant. 'Candy Stripe' is prepared to withstand heat, humidity, drought, and cold, becoming very tough and adaptable once established in your landscape.
