Description / Phlox 'Eye Shadow'

'Eye Shadow' is everything we hope a ground cover would be—durable, floriferous, and easy to manage. Offering a spectacular wave of purple-pink blooms to end the spring season, this phlox produces so profusely that the dark green foliage is almost invisible. The blossoms are intensely colorful and show shades of lavender to magenta with a deep plum eye and gold anthers to add some pleasing contrast. Did we mention that butterflies, bees, and other pollinators love them too? Add this groundcover to your pollinator garden for an extra splash of low-lying beauty and color and you won't be disappointed. It works in beds, as a colorful border, or even spread as ground cover. This sun-loving perennial grows well in gritty, rocky soil making it a great choice rough-and-tumble landscapes and does best in full sun. No matter how you slice it, 'Eye Shadow' is a must-have.

Seeds or plant? 0 people found this helpful

Can't tell from the description whether the item is seeds or a plant. I searched for seeds. I'll have to assume that the phrase 'One Quart' implies that this is an individual plant for sale.

Packed well, but rootbound 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

My order arrived rather quick, and was packaged with care. However, the only thing that bothered me was trying to take it out of the plastic plant cup. The roots were bound and had grown out of the bottom so much, that there was no way I could take this plant out of the cup without damaging and cutting through the roots. My plant has been in the ground for 3 days now, and doesn't appear to be stressed or dying though, so only time will tell with how well it grows. So far, it appears good, but the roots being bound as much as they were makes me hesitant to purchase a live plant from here again. If I spend a considerable amount of money on a site for a tiny plant, I hope for the plants to be healthy and grow well when they arrive.
