Description / Pinus 'Green Penguin'
It's near impossible to resist the endearing yet awkward cuteness of penguins and that's probably why no one can resist these squat little evergreen trees!
'Green Penguin' are compact pyramidal scotch pines whose shape resembles their arctic bird namesake to a T. The tufted juvenile growth is surrounded by longer needles, giving it additional texture and it only grows about 2 to 3 inches per year. They never need pruning and are quite hardy even in the harsh winters of zone 3. You will love how the green tuffs keep their color all year long, bringing your garden color even during bleak winters. These little cuties will provide plenty of foliage interest wherever you decide to plant them in your landscape. These low maintenance marvels are sure to waddle right into your heart!
