Description / Hydrangea Fairytrail Fresco™ Cascade Hydrangea
A member of the Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs, Fairytrail Fresco™ is a unique cascading hydrangea that grows to a neat, compact size of about 3 to 4 feet high and 4 to 5 feet wide, making it perfect for smaller garden spaces. One of the earliest hydrangeas to bloom, Fairytrail Fresco™ produces flowers from late spring to early summer, with buds forming at each leaf node. This growth habit creates a garland-like display of large mophead blooms that change color based on soil pH: alkaline soils yield pink flowers, while acidic soils produce blue. These trailing blooms are stunning in bouquets and dried arrangements, while its lush green foliage turns red in fall, providing extended seasonal interest.
A versatile Hydrangea hybrid, commonly known as cascade hydrangea, Fairytrail Fresco™ serves beautifully as a specimen plant in containers or garden beds, with its full effect showcased in mass plantings as a foundation plant.
Low-maintenance and easy to grow, Fairytrail Fresco™ thrives in partly sunny to shady spots with moist, well-drained soil. It also tolerates clay soil and warmer temperatures, so it's adaptable to a wide range of garden conditions, while maintaining its cascading charm and colorful blooms.
