Each bloom is just 1 inch long, but they arise profusely in loosely-held, ball-shaped clusters that perch atop stately 3- to 4-foot-tall stalks. New blooms open every afternoon, and are so thin and delicately-held that they have earned the common name "Spider Flower". Excellent contrast to the dense, lush, pointed dark green foliage. And Queen Mix Spider Flower, blooms profusely from early summer all the way to frost in full sun. So easy and long-blooming, you'll wonder how you ever got by without a tall stand of cleome in the back of the flower border.
Cleome Queen Mix Spider Flower is easy to start from seed. Just direct sow the seeds into the sunny, well-drained garden in April, and before you know it, the vigorous plants have shot up several feet and begun to bloom. Very drought-tolerant, they weather the dog days of summer beautifully and keep going right into the cooler temperatures of fall.

Very disappointed! 1 people found this helpfulI sowed my Cleome seeds 2 weeks ago, and not one has germinated. I’ve grown this plant from seed many times over the years and have never had a problem before. Very disappointing.

Spider Flowers or Cleome 1 people found this helpfull bought these as l lost the seeds from the plants at my previous residence. They are tall, pretty flowers but the leaves definitely have a distinct odor which repels animals and many insects. The seeds are in the pods that hang from the plant, so once you plant them they reseed the area for the following growing seasons.
