Scabiosa Giga™ Pink Pincushion Flower

Scabiosa Giga™ Pink Pincushion Flower is a compact perennial that produces large, 3 inch pink blooms from mid spring through summer. The flowers rise on upright stems above a neat mound of finely cut, fuzzy foliage, reaching about 20 inches tall and 15 inches wide. Removing spent flowers keeps new blooms coming through the summer months, so you can enjoy a long season of soft pink color.

Giga™ Pink is a versatile choice for borders, edging, rock gardens, and containers, and the upright stems make it a natural for cut flowers. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators visit the blooms, and rabbits tend to avoid it. For a colorful planting, combine this pincushion flower with Shasta daisy, Coreopsis, Penstemon, Gaillardia, and Sedum.

Grow in full sun to part shade in enriched, loose, well drained soil with a near neutral pH. Provide regular water during the growing season and water during dry spells once established. Hardy in Zones 4 to 10, this herbaceous perennial grows at a moderate rate. Deadhead regularly to extend flowering. Large 3 inch flowers on a compact, easy to place plant make Giga™ Pink a cheerful source of pink color for beds, containers, and bouquets.
