Description / Serendipity Triplesweet™ Hybrid Sweet Corn Seeds

Days to maturity: 82 days.

Crunchy-sweet flavor like you have never tasted before bursts from these plump 8-inch ears! One of an entirely new type of corn called TripleSweet, Serendipity Hybrid combines the crunchy texture of sugary-enhanced types with the extra sweetness and great holding ability of the supersweets! The result? Delicious!

TripleSweet corn actually contains TWO kernel types, selected and reselected to create an ear that is 75% sugary-enhanced and 25% supersweet. Ideal for home gardens, it needs no isolation from other corn, and has great staying power on the stalk.

Serendipity Hybrid boasts high-quality bicolor ears, each jammed with 16 to 18 rows of white and yellow kernels beneath tight green husks (which keep the harvest fresh and pest free). They are both attractive and scrumptious, with a full-bodied flavor so savory you may find yourself eating them straight from the stalk! And they keep so well that you don't have to harvest them all at once! Taste, texture, and hold -- that's the TripleSweet advantage!

Excellent sweet corn 1 people found this helpful

I grew this corn in 30 gallon grow bags, planted four corn plants and green beans in the center to feed & eat! I have been craving sweet corn and nothing was coming close to satisfying that craving until now THIS IS EXCELLENT SWEET CORN, great flavor, nice large ears at least two per stalk.

Never disappointed with this sweet corn. It is great for eating fresh as well as freezing. I have grown it in northern Indiana and South Eastern New York. Great for the home garden!

Great Variety 0 people found this helpful

A super-performing bi-color. Good germination rates year after year. This corn is great fresh and also freezes well. The ears have been filled out nicely and they are large. This is the 4th or 5th year of us planting Serendipity and we have no reason to stop.

Must plant late 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

I planted as soon as the danger of frost was over in 2018 in northern Utah. I waited for it to come up and only about six plants came up. Then I planted another variety of corn 3 weeks later. This came up fine. The few Serendipity plants that produced fruit were good. When I called the distributor, I learned that the user must wait until the soil is warm to plant. This is much later than I prefer and don't plan to use this variety again.

Best Eating Corn! 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

First time planting and growing corn. Corn is not my favorite vegetable. I'm not a big vegetable eater other than beans and potatoes. However my brother's father-in-law planted this a few years back and it immediately became my favorite corn variety. Corn never tasted so good! I put this in my mother's garden in SW Indiana. We had a pretty good summer I think weather wise and the garden has an irrigation system. In total I planted about 150 cornels with a germination of about 140. I'm very pleased with the success of germination, growth, yield and flavor. I found the best tasting corn was picked around 60-67 days after planting. I planted on the first of the months to remember easily. Later picking was still better tasting than store bought corn but not as juicy.

Unbelievable flavor! 0 people found this helpful

I grew this last year, and was blown away by the flavor. I have planted it again this year and cannot wait for it to mature. I planted it a little too early this year, so germination was a little erratic. The corn sprouted over four or five days. Not sure what effect that will have on pollination. Time will tell.

Great Sweet Corn 0 people found this helpful

Have grown Incredible, Honey Select, and Serendipity the last two years and will again this year. Each has its own great flavor and specific strengths, all are good, strong plants, ears are full and delicious, and germination very good. Serendipity is a very attractive sweet corn as well. It tastes great fresh and freezes quite well, too.

Serendipity Triplesweet - our Favorite for California Central Valley 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

We have tried many sweet corn varieties in our very large garden. This one variety is our favorite - very sweet, and when picked just right the kernels are tender and pop in your mouth. My wife doesn't want me to plant any other variety! We like fresh corn to be continuously available, so we plant a little every weekend - two rows 8 feet long - quick and easy. We use drip tape watering with a timer for consistent daily watering in this hot location. Honey Select also does extremely well in our area and is our favorite for "all yellow" corn. I love the large ears it produces. Its flavor and quality is close to that of Serendipity Triplesweet. I plant a little of this also to mix on the table with the Serendipity - some of my guests prefer all-yellow corn. When new varieties of sweet corn are available, we often try them, but we always come back to Serendipity Triplesweet - it is fabulous!
