Spike Cordyline Seeds

Description / Spike Cordyline Seeds
This tall, vertical accent foliage plant is so attractive and useful. As a houseplant grown in a large tub, it will shoot up to 6 feet tall, with gracefully arching foliage that accents an entryway, decorates the hearth, or stands sentry in the hall. As a mixed planting with low-growing and floppy flowering plants, it offers great contrast, its needle-like spikes of green cascading down above the brightly-colored blooms. And in the drier regions of zones 8-10, it is even a landscape plant.
Spikes reaches 3 to 6 feet tall. It grows like a weed and is as tough as nails, ready to handle benign neglect with grace and ease. Add a little vertical color and fountain-like texture to your plantings with this carefree gem.

Ugghh!! 0 people found this helpfulI have tried unsuccessfully to grow these at least 4×'s, and I can get anything to grow. The one time I actually got sprouts, they quickly died. I don't know what gives? I have tried every method known to me to get these to grow

Patience is a virtue on this one! 0 people found this helpfulAs stated these are slow and sporadic in their germination - there was some conflicting sowing information between the website and the instructions included with the seeds. Overall the paper towel method seemed to work quickest, took about 2 weeks to germinate, soil method took about 50 days for the seeds to germinate although I followed the seed packet that said to sow 1" deep, in hindsight they probably need light as noted on the website. Kind of look like onion seedlings at first. I'll update in a couple months when it's time for me to plant them out.
