We love this universal light stand, and so will you. It's simple, lightweight, very durable, and completely adjustable. It puts light just where you need it, so your seedlings and plants grow their best. It's easy to use and endlessly versatile. We think you'll get a lifetime of hard wear out of it, and we highly recommend it for starting seeds indoors, growing on seedlings before the season, and overwintering tropicals, tenders, and houseplants.
The principle is very simple, and somehow this light stand is far less clunky than older models. Two 18-inch-high support bars of powder-coated aluminum hold the light hood in place, and adjust with four O-rings that slide up and down the bars. The base is secured with 6 anti-skid pads and a wide yet compact surface area. Two light grips hold any T5 bulb securely in place. The whole thing assembles in seconds, and then you plug it in and adjust it to that optimal 3- to 6-inch range above the tops of your seedlings or plants. That's all there is to it.
T5 full-spectrum bulbs are the ones recommended for plant growth. They offer full-spectrum light of the type plants need for optimal growth, and if you've been making do with under-the-cabinet kitchen fluorescents or the good old late-winter sun shining through the window, you'll be amazed at the difference proper lighting makes to the size, speed, branching, and color of your seedlings. They shoot right up, and out.

Arrived with broken piece 1 people found this helpfulI took my light stand out of the box to put it together but was dismayed to find that Oort of the light grips was broken. Received this kit before Christmas and was ready to put it together and was so disappointed to find that one of the light grips was broken. I tried to call the company number but it is Sunday and the mailbox is full so I was not able to leave a message.

Not great 2 people found this helpfulI have had one of these for a few years now. The light itself is fine. Nice and big and bright. The stand is the problem. It is flimsy and lightweight. The bottom of the plastic stand is hollow, so it is wobbly and unstable. Any gentle bump and over it goes. The light is held on with clips that simply do not work. I have had to add a zip tie to each side to keep the light from falling off. If you can put up with the work-arounds, it may be ok for you. I would not recommend it.

Good Product but one light NOT enough & Broken parts 2 people found this helpfulBroken O-rings after only a few months - Can't upload photo To grow seedlings properly after germination the light needs to be close to the seedlings. One light will not adequately illuminate one tray of seeds. Photos are misleading. Recommend purchasing more lights and using the SunBlaster Universal T5 Light Strip Hanger Accessory which holds up to 7 Lamps. I do not believe that accessory is available on this site.

Need to make a double light stand 1 people found this helpfulI sure wish they had a double light stand. I like this light just fine but it does not allow to properly light a single flat of seedlings. It will only adequately light one side of a flat. The lights should be placed no farther than 3" away from seedlings therefore the other side of the flat doesn't get light. It's good for now but I foresee having to replace it with something else. Disappointed as I thought the "spread" of the light was greater....

Not clear that you will have to buy additional items 0 people found this helpfulIt appears that what comes with this offer is 2 stands only. Not included are the NanoTech T5 Reflector and the T5 bulb.. If this is okay for $49.95, than by all means buy it.

Finally found it! 0 people found this helpfulI have looked everywhere for a small grow light to help start seeds for my small balcony garden that was in my ideal price range. I am very happy with what I have purchased. Just waiting for it to get here to see if it lives up to my expectations.
