Description / Sunshine Mix Gazania Seeds

Famous for its wild color combinations, this is the brightest and liveliest Treasure Flower mix we know!

Certain to bring a smile to your face and a load of dazzling color to your garden from early summer till frost, Sunshine is exactly what its name suggests -- bright, carefree hot color! No two blooms are exactly alike, with color-saturated solids competing for attention with cabana-striped bicolors and free-for-all multicolors with as many as 5 distinctly different shades per bloom!

About all they have in common is their huge size -- 4 inches across, conservatively -- and their huge, cheery yellow centers, which may remind you of Sunflowers with their interesting rings of petaloids and fascinating color gradations.

These blooms begin in early summer on compact 10- to 12-inch plants and then, like the wild partygoers they are, just keep coming all summer and into fall, until the first hard frost forces them to depart.

And like all good guests, they don't ask much -- in this case, just lots of sun and well-drained soil of almost any type. The foliage is attractive, too (though who can pay any attention to it, under those wild blooms?), with silvery-gray highlights. What a show!

Sunshine Mix contains 5 base colors--cream, yellow, orange, pink, and red--with seemingly endless variation in stripes, rings, dots, and shadings! Start this fabulous annual indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost, or sow it direct as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Pkt is 25 seeds.

Started indoors. Very quick to germinate. Very healthy. Will be planting many more. Can't wait to see the colorful flowers. Believe they are going to be my favorites

All but four seeds have germinated and are doing well. The other four may yet sprout.

I started my seeds in peat pots last year in early January, inside. They are still thriving--some I donated to a bed at our Galveston County Master Gardener pergola bed. They are very beautiful, and have thrived throughout all this time, despite a few light freezes. Don't know if they would survive a hard freeze, especially if it lasted more than a day or so. They are even blooming now, despite a couple of light frosts recently. We are in zone 9. Got my moneys worth! They can take the heat, and prefer full sun. Blooms close on cloudy days and at night.

I planted the first half (12 seeds) 4 weeks ago. One have germinated yet. Planted the other 13 a week ago so we will see. Ive been an avid gardener for 12 years so I’m well informed how to start them. All my other seeds from them have germinated except for these.

It's been warm here in Mobile,Al. and I planted these the day I got them.I use a mixture of miracle grow garden soil and black kow composted cow manure for all my plants and seeds.Within 3 days these seeds were popin up and doing well. It's now 17 days and all plants have the second set of leaves and continue to do well.I planted 2-3 seeds in each 3"x3"x3" pot so I don't have to transplant till I'm ready to put them in the garden. Thanks Park Seed for great products

I bought these seeds last year and tried them outside. The ones that came up are actually still blooming! I bought another pack this year and started them in the Biodome and with a grow light, but they are just not doing well. Light is close to the seedlings, but they are skinny, and all falling over. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I may have to try them again, because they are beautiful when they bloom. I have other flower seeds in the Biodome that are doing great, so that's not the problem.
