Description / Lollipop Verbena

Fill your garden all season long with airy lavender-to-violet blooms, and invite in pollinators at the same time! As handy in containers as it is in the garden, this versatile Lollipop Verbena even makes fine cut-flowers in both fresh and dried arrangements.

From early summer to early fall, Lollipop Verbena offers a lovely canopy of fragrant lavender to violet flowers. A very free-flowering dwarf selection of the species, Lollipop Verbena is a magnet for butterflies and hummers, which visit the 24-inch high and wide plant all season long. This sun-lover requiring little water and almost no maintenance, making Lollipop Verbena one of the easiest perennials you will ever grow.

Lollipop is already an award winner, and you will find it ultra-dependable in the border, meadow garden, or container. Tolerant of extreme heat and humidity, once established it also puts up with drought without dropping a leaf! Enjoy Lollipop Verbena in your landscape for many seasons to come! Zones 7-10.

Plant order arrived dead including this one. Plants had apparently been grown in different locations eg GA IL and got hot and died.

Verbena 5 people found this helpful

Arrived quickly. Be patient the plant was a little rough looking to start but I planted immediately, watered, and fertilized and it grew beautifully! Butterflies loved the flowers. Zone 8B. Extreme heat aka triple digits wasn't tolerated well.

Pretty But Not Hardy 5 people found this helpful

    Rating

I bought several of these in the Spring and they bloomed prolifically. By mid summer, even though I watered them at ground level and took care not to wet the leaves, the plants got a white mildew on them and slowly died. I wanted to try them again, because the flowers are so pretty, so I ordered 6 more to plant in the fall. They were beginning to turn brown when I received them and they never recovered. I had to dispose of them today. I really love them, but they are hard to grow.

Wonderful Plant 3 people found this helpful

Lollipop Verbena has been a vigorous plant and has continuously been covered in beautiful purple flowers. It isn’t needy with water and they light up my flowerbed. I have them planted in a bed with a purple hydrangea, blue hardy hibiscus, pink flowered weigelia, and blue plumbago. The colors mix nicely and they are all perrineals, so I can look forward to them coming back every year. The Lollipop Verbena is a nice filler planted in sets of 3. I like them so much that I’m here to buy more to plant in the fall.

Arrived dead. 6 people found this helpful

This plant arrived dead and I haven’t received a response to two different inquiries to customer service about it over the span of about a month. I spent $12 on a twig. I’m disgusted and won’t order from this company again.

Arrived looking healthy. Transplanted and boy, did it take off. Beautiful plant. It seems to be very happy on the deck surrounded by other Park flowers.

Love this verbena! Well behaved, began blooming in April of this year and will continue through the summer. I plan to add some more plants to scatter throughout the border.

Lovely, graceful plant, soft color 6 people found this helpful

    Rating

Beautiful! The color is a beautiful, flowing soft purply-blue that looks fabulous next to yellows, or probably any other color. Shape is a series of "y"s. Can cut it back hard, and it will come back thicker and more beautiful. Mine collapsed in midsummer, not sure why. Maybe too much water? Something in the soil? Anyway, too beautiful not to try it again.

Hearty and beautiful 4 people found this helpful

This plant is a true beauty and does really well in a 'droughty' and cold wind-exposed part of our Central PA lawn. Very low maintenance once established.
