Description / Vineless Puerto Rico Sweet Potato Slips
Days to Maturity: 100 from direct sow
A classic "bunch" or "bush" variety, Vineless Puerto Rico Sweet Potato Plant is ideal for small gardens where large vines cannot grow. These are just 18 inches long, with masses of baby bakers maturing in just 100 days. The potatoes have light red flesh that pales to yellow with ripening. Great yields on space-saving plants.
Easy to grow and nutritious, sweet potatoes also store well. Set these plants 12 to 15 inches apart in 3-foot rows in a sunny, well-drained spot. After harvest, cure the potatoes in a warm (85 degrees Fahrenheit is preferable) location for 2 weeks, then store at 60 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 to 8 weeks.
