Description / White Lady Hybrid Turnip Seeds

35 days. A uniform, vigorous, and quick-maturing white turnip, this extra-fancy type is excellent for its tender greens as well as its smooth white globes. The flesh is crisp and sweet, even when allowed to grow large. Harvest at 2½ inches in diameter for best freshness. This hybrid adapts very well, bringing in big crops where others have not performed satisfactorily. It resists heat and bolting, and can even be grown all summer in cool and mild climates; the fruit will be smaller but just as delicious!

Turnips are easy to grow in spring or fall. Harvest the greens at about 2 to 3 inches as the roots grow; they will regrow several times as long as the crown isn't damaged. Pkt is 1/16 oz. (at least 600 seeds), which sows about 25 feet of row.

By far my favorite 0 people found this helpful

White lady turnips are by far my favorite turnip to grow. My husband loves turnip greens. These greens are sweet, tender and spineless. The roots are thin skinned, tender and sweet. This variety is similar to most of the Japanese type turnips but they are more productive and uniform.

They grow well and the leaves are good to eat. To me the bottoms have little flavor and are watery. The larger ones do not get strong tasting, they just actually get some. These will get huge 6-8 inches across.

Absolutely LOVE this product. I absolutely LOVE this product. The leaves are larger than purple top, not crinkley, not as hairy, and therefore easier to wash. The taste is really good! I've already ordered for next year. The leaves are larger than others that I have planted. They are not crinkley, not as hairy as others ,and are therefore easier to clean

Our family loves White Lady turnips! The root is so sweet you can eat it like an apple! No bitterness. These are like liquid gold at other stores.

We grew in the greenhouse, planting in Feb and without any supplemental heat. Temps fluctuated between 17 and 85 here at 5000 ft elevation in Lander Wyoming. Delicate sweet flavor, never strong in both leaves and bulbs. Customers who were too late for their usual greens, tried the White Lady and then came back for more asking for them by name. The White Lady turnip will be a garden staple.
