Description / Sow Effortless Collection™ Zinnia Seed Tape Collection

This year, plant zinnias the way you've always dreamed: in neat rows for a cutting garden, in fancy patterns for front yard beds, and in dramatic zigzags for your best containers. It's easy as can be with seed tape. You literally lay it down on top of the soil where you want the plants to grow, cutting it to fit the space and arranging it in any pattern you like. Then rake or sprinkle about a half inch of soil on top of the seed tapes and water them in well. That's it—in a few weeks you'll see evenly spaced, healthy green shoots that need no thinning.

This Sow Effortless Zinnia Seed Tape Collection contains many of the fancy and hard-to-find doubles in the zinnia family, for breathtaking indoor arrangements as well as garden beauty. We have selected three of the very best mixes for the widest possible range of colors and looks, all with twice the petals of standard varieties.

One of the very easiest annuals to grow from seed, zinnia grows in a flash and blooms heavily. A "cut-and-come-again" annual, it sets new buds as soon as the old flowers are cut or deadheaded, so it repeats reliably all summer. You'll love designing with our super-easy seed tape for summer-long color in garden and vase.

Sow Effortless Collection™ Zinnia Seed Tape Collection Includes:

15 feet of seed tape containing a mixture of the following:

Candy Mix: a bright blend of 2- to 3-inch double blooms boasting a pompom of tightly-clustered short petals above a skirt of longer, daisy-like petals in shades of red, cerise, orange, yellow, and white.

Giant Cactus Mix: a beautiful blend of huge, 4- to 5-inch, fully double blooms in shades of yellow, orange, red, rose, pink, salmon, and white

Peppermint Stick: a brilliant blend of colorful candy stripe-type petal-packed, 2-inch, cream and yellow blooms, each merrily striped, splashed, and splotched in shades of scarlet, carmine, rose, purple, orange, and vermilion.

At Park Seed, we take pride in curating a unique selection of premium seeds and the easiest methods to plant them. To maintain a constant supply of the freshest and highest-quality seeds, we may occasionally substitute different zinnia varieties in our collections. Don't worry, each substitution is carefully chosen to complement the original selection, ensuring a diverse and exciting array of flavors and textures.

Take a fresh approach to gardening with Park Seed's Sow Effortless Collection™ of growing kits, seed tapes, discs, and mats.

My new favorite 3 people found this helpful

My first year planting Zinnias. I love how easy the tape was to plant and the germination rate was excellent. My plants were good and healthy. The Monarch’s and other butterflies spent hours on them. My garden is very small. I have a small city property and these were just perfect for my garden. I wish there was a way to add a photo to m6 review.

Great germination 2 people found this helpful

This seed tape was really easy to plant as a sidewalk border amongst existing daffodils with the idea that as the daffodils die back in our (Charleston SC) hot summer approaching. So with a mid April planting I am surprised by the fast germination of just over a week for most of the four tapes (60 feet) I planted. I can’t testify to the ultimate success but am confident they will bloom in about six weeks. Was not provided guidance on thinning but I can always ask. Germination is definitely a success I am impressed with.

One 1 tape germinated 0 people found this helpful

Only one if the three varieties germinated for me and then only half of the tape. I planted them in my raised bed in full sun. So disappointed in this. I’ll stick with regular seeds I can start inside.

I wanted to try the flower tape. I use it for some of my vegetables and it makes it a lot easier to plant. This Zina collection is just so pretty I ordered more! Love the three different types!

Disappointed with zinnia seed tape 1 people found this helpful

Germination was excellent but the flower size is small and ugly. I think I’ll stick with JOHNNYS Binary giants

High performance with little effort! 3 people found this helpful

Highly recommend! These seed tapes add such a delightfully fun and colorful border to my veggie garden in Central New York. The colors are gorgeous, there's little to no effort and in spots they come back the following year. The tape makes sowing a breeze. Make sure you have plenty of bud or small vases on hand. One of my favorite ways to welcome guests is to place these on nightstands in guest bedroom as a cheerful welcome in the morning a nice peck on the cheek at night.

Look nothing like the picture 1 people found this helpful
I will say that this is an easy way to grow zinnias and that they do all come up and thrive however - the flowers are small and single layer petals. Look nothing like the picture - Have tried them two years in a row hoping for fuller flowers. I will figure something else out next year

Over half the tapes did not sprout 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

I love Zinnias, so I went expensive and bought the tapes to make sure I had a good crop. I lost money in this venture. We'll see what kind of flowers I get (if any) from the ones that did sprout.

So Much Color 3 people found this helpful

    Rating

I planted these in April here in Idaho. We had a warm winter and I was eager to get my garden started. It is 5 months since laying down the strip and I am still enjoying a rich, 4 foot tall border of the most color I have ever seen in my garden. I purposely planted these in my vegetable garden for my bees. My bees thanked me all summer long. My garden harvest is about over but my lovely Zinnias are standing proud and tall. I am definitely getting these again for next year.
