Park's Seed Starting Trays & Inserts

Description / Park's Seed Starting Trays & Inserts
For strong, healthy seedlings with robust root systems, trust Park's Seed-Starting Trays and Inserts to give your plants the best start. These versatile trays are ideal for germinating seeds or transitioning young seedlings from seed flats, allowing them to develop more fully before being transplanted into your garden. Designed for both home gardeners (of all levels) and professional growers, they offer an economical and reusable solution for nurturing top-quality plants season after season.
The durable bottom tray serves as a sturdy base for the inserts, providing a reliable way to transport seedlings. It accommodates six 36-cell inserts, eight 48-cell inserts, or twelve 72-cell inserts, giving you flexible options to suit your growing needs. Each black poly-plastic insert features perforated cells for excellent drainage and water absorption, ensuring seedlings receive proper moisture and airflow for vigorous growth. The bottom tray conveniently catches excess water when top watering and also supports bottom watering to maintain consistent hydration. The humidity domes rest loosely on top, helping to retain essential moisture for optimal seedling development.
To customize your seed-starting setup, bottom trays, humidity domes, and inserts are all available in packs of four, allowing you to mix and match as needed. For even better results, pair these trays with Espoma Organic® Seed Starter Mix and the AlgoPlus Fertilizer Collection. Be sure to pre-soak the seed starter mix thoroughly before planting to promote successful germination. Give your seedlings the strong foundation they need to thrive with this reliable seed-starting system.

Very Misleading and Unusable 9 people found this helpfulThe photo of the inserts, tray and cover is completely misleading. The cover is not positioned directly over the tray with the inserts in it as in the photos of similar products and as you would expect to use it because it does not fit. The description of the 36-cell inserts is that they are 2.25" X 2.25" which is true. What they fail to tell you is that the inserts are 3" deep and stick up 1/2" above the edge of the tray which is 2.5" deep. The bottom edge of the clear plastic cover will not reach the lip of the top edge of the tray because the top edge of the 3" cells blocks the cover from sitting securing on the top of the tray. Either you have to replace the 3" inserts with 2" inserts or you have to cut the sides of the 3" inserts next to the four sides of the tray down to 2.5". Either way, it is misleading advertising and an inconvenience to make the tray and the cover work with new or altered inserts.

Mismatched Humidity Cover and Inserts 6 people found this helpfulI wanted a seed starting tray and humidity cover for 36-cell inserts. However the photo of this product on this webpage with the 36-cell inserts shows the humidity cover offset over the cells concealing the fact that the cover doesn't work with the product. The humidity cover is designed to sit flush, resting over the rim of the tray. As the other photos demonstrate, the 72-cell inserts fits flush in the tray because they are only 2 inches deep, the same depth as the tray. However the description of the 36-cell inserts omits the fact that they are 3 inches deep and rest 1 inch above the side of the tray, which is shown in the first photo on the website of this product. Consequently the humidity cover never touches the edge of the tray as it does with the 72 cell inserts and the cover can't be secured to the tray. The cover just sits on top of the inserts and the slightest movement displaces it. Either there should be a warning about the mismatch in size of the trays and the 36-cell inserts or the 36-cell inserts should not be sold with the humidity covers.

Just what I needed 1 people found this helpfulI ordered the 36 cell ones because I cannot find them locally. These were also sold at a great price. These are thin but with care, you may get 3 or 4 uses out of them indoors.
