Spaghetti Squash Seeds
Have you heard it called vegetable spaghetti? It certainly makes sense to refer to it that way. Spaghetti squash is easy to steam and scrape with your fork for piles of fluffy “noodles” that have such mild flavor, you can add them to sweet and savory dishes.

Like most other squash, spaghetti squash seeds need full sun and warm soil that is well-drained. When direct sowing seeds, you can hill them to avoid “wet feet”. Spaghetti squash seeds can also be started indoors and moved to the garden once soil temperatures are approaching 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you are gardening in a smaller space, you can still grow squash. Train the spaghetti squash vines up a trellis or over an arbor. The beautiful vines, expansive leaves, colorful flowers, and shiny fruits of spaghetti squash are a gorgeous addition to your landscape, vegetable and flower garden. The large leaves provide protection from the sun’s rays for humans and plants.
You can plant the spaghetti squash to help shield other vegetables from too much sun in the garden or create a lovely archway covered in vines, flowers, and colorful spaghetti squash fruits.
Due to its almost neutral flavor, you can use healthy spaghetti squash as a base for savory main dishes and sneak it into kid’s favorites if you have picky eaters at home. The mild flavor takes on the flavor profiles of the ingredients it’s prepared with so you can even add it to desserts, try spaghetti squash with apples and brown sugar.
