The QuadSweets™ line is at the forefront of sweet corn innovation, combining the best traits of supersweet (sh2) and sugary enhanced (se) corn seed varieties. This unique combination results in corn that delivers unparalleled sweetness while preserving the classic heirloom taste that corn growers and eaters cherish. These hybrids are delicious and also exhibit strong agronomic traits, making them a valuable addition to your vegetable garden.
QuadSweets™ corn reaches maturity approximately 76 days after planting. Harvest when the silks turn brown, and the kernels release a milky substance when pressed. Enjoy the corn fresh, grilled, or preserved by freezing to savor its exceptional flavor beyond the growing season.
Why do corn varieties need to be isolated?
If different corn varieties cross pollinate with QuadSweets™ Corn, the heirloom flavor and long-lasting sweet taste can be affected.
Should I fertilize QuadSweets™ Corn?
Corn is a heavy feeder meaning it needs lots of nutrients to produce a large yield. Use a general-purpose fertilizer (10-10-10) before sowing seeds and a nitrogen fertilizer when plants are about 12-inches tall. Side dress the plants with fertilizer periodically throughout the season.
How will I know if the plants are getting enough fertilizer/nutrients?
Look for signs of nutrient deficiency. Purple-tinged leaves are a sign of phosphorus deficiency. Pale green leaves are a sign of nitrogen deficiency.
