Description / Spineless Beauty Hybrid Squash Seeds

Days to Maturity: 43 from direct sow

No more scratched arms or damaged fruit from gingerly poking among sharp spines to harvest the zucchini. Spineless Beauty hybrid offers excellent yields of uniform, medium green fruit on open plants with very few spines. A classic favorite that has stood the test of time, it belongs front and center in your summer squash garden.

Spineless Beauty hybrid is the industry standard for zucchini for so many reasons. Harvesting it is simple, living up to the promise of its name. But it also matures quickly, offers very uniform fruit, and has a tender, juicy, flavorful bite that everyone loves. And the yields are very high on vigorous plants.

Expect these creamy fruits to reach 8½ inches long and about 1½ inches wide, with a dark green color, smooth texture, and slight ribbing. They are very uniform, making canning a snap. And the flavor is just unbeatable.

Summer squash ripens during the hot summer months and, thin-skinned, is best eaten fresh. Sow seeds 1 inch deep directly into the garden after the danger of frost is past. Thin the seedlings to 24 inches apart, or plant several seeds in hills 4 feet apart and then thin to 2 plants per hill. (For even earlier harvests, start seeds indoors). Pick when the fruits are still small (4 to 8 inches long).

So far only 6 out of 15 seeds germinated. Maybe it would have been better to start direct sow! The ones that did sprout are looking a little rough.

    Response from store

Thank you for sharing your feedback—we're really sorry to hear that you experienced low germination with your Spineless Beauty Hybrid Squash Seeds. That’s definitely not the outcome we hope for, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Germination success can sometimes vary depending on growing conditions. Starting seeds indoors vs. direct sowing can depend on your climate and season length—direct sowing is often more successful in areas with long, warm growing seasons, while indoor starting can give a helpful head start in shorter-season regions.

We’ll be reaching out to you via email to make this right, and we appreciate the opportunity to do so!

Great Squash 0 people found this helpful

I get the spinless beauty every year. They are very tender and easy to grow. They give you lots of fruit throughout the summer and into fall. If they get to large, I just grate them up and use it for Zuchinni bread and the million of other things you can use zuchinni for. I also freeze the grated zuchinni and use during the winter for zuchinni bread. Seed come up quickly and the plant never slows down. I finally get tired of zuchinni and pull the plants...lol. Great product.

I've planted this variety for two years so far, and the harvest that I get off of one single plant is absolutely incredible. Great tasting, easy to grow, and SO many zucchini to harvest!

poor germination 0 people found this helpful
I thought at first that a chipmunk was eating the seeds - so I planted the seeds in pots - out of 12 seeds I have planted I have ONE plant growing - a second one germinated but the leaves on it are smaller in size then a dime. won't order this variety ever again
