Description / Fingerling Blend Eggplant Seeds

Days to Maturity: 70 to 80 from transplant

Now you can grow tender, delectable Asian eggplants in a Mardi Gras assortment of colors right on the balcony, deck, or back porch! Fingerling Blend brings you three varieties from the famous "Fingers" series—compact plants with yummy fruit that can be grown in containers or the sunny garden.

These long, slender eggplants are best harvested young. At maturity they will reach 8 inches long or more, but pick them at just 4 to 7 inches for the most tender texture and delicate flavor. Nearly seedless, they are a gourmet "baby veggie" treat!

In this formula mix, you get 3 varieties from the Fingers series, renowned for its rich mellow flavor, bold color, and smaller size. You will love sampling these delectable eggplants!

Begin seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before planning to set out. Eggplant is a warm-weather crop, so wait until after danger of late spring frost before transplanting seedlings into the sunny garden or your best patio containers. In the vegetable garden, set the seedlings 12 to 14 inches apart in rows 24 to 36 inches apart.

Love these tasty mini eggplants! 0 people found this helpful

I grew these about three years ago and they're still going strong! I live in central Florida, so no killing frost most years. I have two purple and one white in pots. I grew them as a decoration, really, but they've become my fave plants! These little eggplants are perfect to slice for stir fries. I also have a Black Beauty that is several years old, but my purple minis outproduce it by a ton. It's now early April and each plant has about four ready to pick and more coming. By summer, they'll be even more productive. I give them a little fertilizer when I remember and stake them so the stems don't break from the weight. Give them a try!

So easy and very tasty 0 people found this helpful

Initially bought these on a whim at the same time as full sized eggplant. Once everything started producing, I wished I'd planted more of the fingerling style. No, you can't really use them to make eggplant parm. But these fingerling are very tender, creamy in texture and never bitter. Was delicious in soups and making dip. Zone 8 and grown in oversized pots.

Lots of flowers not eggplants 0 people found this helpful

We grew four of these plants raised from seeds on our lanai. The plants with purple blooms bore fruit. The plants with white blooms (all grown in the same City Picker from Lowes) were healthy with tons of blooms and not one eggplant. I would look for another variety next time. Altogether we probably only got half a dozen eggplants altogether, which might be location etc., but the fact that one variety bore and the other never did seems to be variety related.

I can't believe how many eggplant I got. I have been giving them away to whoever comes to my house because there are too many to use. And they were easy to grow.
